Tumabur Ritual at Bantayan

After a rare ritual ceremony on last Saturday (Monolibabow), another ritual called Tumabur has been done yesterday outside Kg. Bantayan Hall, Tamparuli. About 10 Tantagas representing the Dusun Lotud including 4 Libabow performing the ritual which start at 10am and finished at 3pm yesterday.

Monolibabow (Communicating With The Spirits) at Bantayan

A rare ritual ceremony has been held on 13th June 2015 at Kg. Bantayan, Tamparuli. According to the the Dusun Lotud, Monolibabou means communicating with the spirits. It was held to enquire the recent quake of 5.9-magnitude that centred in Ranau on 5th June if it related to the act of nudity stunt of 10 Western tourists on the summit of sacred mountain, Mt. Kinabalu.

“According to the Libabow (Spiritual Medium), the guardian of the mountain have enough with the wrongdoings done by humans/climbers on the mountain. No amount of offering can appease the mountain guardian and the souls residing at the mountain” – Ricardo.
