Travel With Fujifilm X100S : Portrait of Dhurba & Raj
I met these gentlemen on our road trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It was just near the roadside where people stop for toilet, tea or just to have some fresh air near the Trisuli River. By the time I got out from the car, I knew that I want to photograph them. But I took my time building up some confidence for both of us. He thought I was attracted with the lady who was nearby making local delicacy, the Sel Roti. Made of rice flour, deep fried to make crispy outer but puffy inside.

After spending few minutes photographing the lady and the food, I made my move to communicate with him. Mr. Dhurba, 36, is a lorry driver coming all the way from Kathmandu like us, heading further beyond Pokhara. I took a look at the lorry and quite surprise to find the interior look like you were sitting in our living room. It was well decorated. Accompanying with him is his assistance, Mr Raj, 51, who came to and join our conversation. After gained enough trust between us, I ask permission if I could take their portrait. Without hesitant they agreed to my request.

I was using Fujifilm X100S belong to a friend of mine during this trip. The classic appearance of the body makes other feel this was old camera and nothing serious about it, people feel more comfortable compared to the big black DSLR with its bulky lenses. Nowadays, people thinks that you make big money when you took photo with DSLR. I have been using Fujifim system more than 1 year and never thinking of turning back to other DSLR, this is there camera system that suits me well especially for travel.

I been sitting here like an hour just to figure out how I’m going to start this post. I wrote few lines, then I discarded it. Then I start again but lead to another blank page in the end. I hardly describe the beauty of this place just by the use of words. But the scenery, sounds & smells are still fresh in my head. You don’t have to agree with me, but when we can remember every details of certain things happened in our past, that was the point we were experiencing a “clear” mind, live in present, not in our past nor the future. In our daily life, we been clutter our mind with thousand of thought, thinking about our future & our past, but not many live in present including me. Anyway, I’ll leave that introduction of this post just like this as I can’t find the best word to fit that beautiful scenery. It has been a while since my last post about our new comer in our family, Hakeem. This picture was taken on his 17th day after he was born. For about two weeks he has been fighting with jaundice, warded for about 18 hours in the tube. He was discharge after seeing positive progressive, but still we need to bring him to clinic for blood sampling about 3 times a week. Alhamdulillah he is now becoming better day by day. Thanks for the tips given (on Facebook) which helps alot to reduce the his jaundice.

Bilirubin is produced by the normal breakdown of red blood cells. Normally, bilirubin passes through the liver and is excreted as bile through the intestines. Last Wednesday, the company announced Film Pack 4: Slide, a new pack of emulators that help photographers recreate the look of various slide film stocks in digital photos. It’s “the most authentic film emulation available,” the company says.

The software is available for Lightroom (4/5) and Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop (CS6/CC). VSCO Film Pack 4 also brings some other, more general improvements to the plugin. It features more custom camera profiles, including Fuji, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus and Leica models, and an increased range of blues and blacks for VSCO Tools.
